Blood for thought

A graffitied Israel tourism poster I saw on the London underground. I guess this person feels as though the Jewish state has more than a little blood on their hands and aren't too keen to visit.

Candy mag is no joke

Luis Venegas is an influential contributer to the gay community's beloved Butt magazine and has recently launched Candy: a fashion mag which celebrates drag, trannies and gender-bending culture (and not to be confused with Phillipines' highest selling teen mag of the same name).

Sadly, trying to hunt down a copy of Candy is like trying to find the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, because Venegas only publishes 1,000 copies of each issue.

Ash Stymest as Amy Winehouse:

The mood of Candy is playful and excessive, but Venegas asserts that, "When I dress up as Anna Wintour, of course it’s a parody, but it’s not a joke. And I want the clothes to look as good as possible, and the style to be as flamboyant as possible".

Here is Venegas himself as Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (with model Andres Bourque as Vogue's red-headed creative director Grace Coddington):

Candy's most famous cover-shoot involved two of my favourite men, James Franco and photographer Terry Richardson:

Ohhh, Yohji

Here is a link to first piece of writing I have done for theplayground.co.uk, a review on the AMAZING Yohji Yamamoto retrospective on at London's Victoria and Albert museum.

"Let's be outside of this, let's be vagabonds" - Tsari Pax (the site took the liberty of abbreviating my surname).

Meryl does Maggie

Queen of Hollywood MERYL STREEP (deserving of capitals) is set to play Britain's only female Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in a biopic due out later this year.

The film is entitled The Iron Lady, the nickname Maggie was given for destroying Britain's welfare system and generally being a cold-heart bitch. Her evil is evidenced by a close friendship with US President Ronald Regan, the man responsible for today's dependency on the merry-go-round of stock markets. Can't wait to see how Meryl tackles this one...

Here are few of my favourite Meryl moments.

The Burkini

The week after France follows Belgium's lead in banning burkas from being worn in public, celebrity chef Nigella Lawson has donned an interesting look - the Burkini.

Emerging from the water at Sydney's Bondi Beach look something like a drowned hippo draped in a sheet, Nigella's controversial attire opens a whole can of worms. Nigella says she wore the Burkini due to its unfailable protection from the sun (reportedly it offers 50+ protection), so what is to happen if this a trend which takes off, will French and Belgian women be the only women left unprotected from the sun's intense UV? And more the question, wasn't the bloody boiling once she sat down on the beach to sunbathe?

A celebrity who donned the burka for more political reasons was M.I.A. What happens if M.I.A. chose to wear her burka whilst touring through Paris, would she get arrested due to being a security threat? Ever the attention whore when it comes to political controversy, I'm sure M.I.A. would salivate at the prospect.

Un-pop

Although she lacks any talent whatsoever, Rebecca Black is a 14-year-old Hollywood rich kid whose parents landed her a record contract. Her song Friday has become a phenomenon with 88 million hits on YouTube (1\4 mill likes to 1.7 mill dislikes), and some harsh criticism. Across the globe, Rebecca's foghorn song about ... what the word Friday means... has been deemed THE WORST SONG EVER.
