Last week I had the pleasure of seeing the Arcade Fire for the first time. The performance was at London's giganteous O2 arena but the troupe from Montreal matched their venue by playing a big, loud gig that filled the stadium.
From their aptly chosen opening song "Ready to Start" through to my personal fave "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnells)", they did nothing but impress. The heart-melting highlight of show was when Arcade Fire finished playing "Rebellion (Lies)" and an electric energy charged around the arena as we all began to hum the indie anthem back at the stage. So many voices were singing in union that it was as if we were providing the band with their own encoure. It felt like a very loving exchange.
